Driver SPG President Speaks at 2015 Rising CM National Conference

Recently, Driver SPG President, Karl Kreutziger, was asked by the National CMIT (Construction Manager In Training) Committee to speak to an audience of more than 80 emerging professionals at the CMAA 2015 Rising CM Conference in Orlando, Florida. The Rising CM Conference is a two-day annual event where young CMAA members from all over the country come together to learn from the Construction Industry’s best leaders. Karl was asked to speak on the importance of managing risk as well as the role that relationships play in resolving construction disputes between owners, architects, consultants, contractors, and public agencies. Karl emphasized building long-lasting relationships that pave the way for a successful career, as well as allow for potential disputes to be resolved quickly and in a manner that serve both parties’ interests. Karl shared typical points of dispute encountered on projects as well as lessons learned from his 25+ years of experience. Following the hour-long discussion, Karl sat with emerging professionals during a lunch-and-learn session and fielded questions, expanding his discussion on a more personal level and answering questions that were specific to current events on attendees’ projects. Karl’s outgoing, engaging, and mentoring personality connected well with the attendees as well as the National CMIT Committee.
