Driver SPG Competes in Charity Bocce Tournament

Recently, Driver SPG employees participated in the 5th Annual IOS Haworth Bocce Ball Tournament. The tournament is held at the Newport Back Bay and features more than 20 teams from local General Contractors, Architects, and Owners that each play for the charity of their choice. This year, Driver SPG played for Kristie’s Foundation, a local non-profit organization that provides hospice support for terminally ill children and their families.

The tournament started off on the wrong foot with Driver SPG losing to rivals Synder Langston in the first round, which relegated us to the loser’s bracket. However, the SPG team then went on an amazing streak which included winning a sudden death shootout thanks to a clutch toss by Senior Project Engineer, Andrew Borchman. After playing some attractive Bocce Ball and clawing our way back to the Quarterfinals, our team eventually lost to NGKF with a score of 4-3.

It was a fun night that also included plenty of food, drinks, and trash talking with friends in the industry. We’ll be practicing for next year so we can bring home the trophy!
