Last week, Driver SPG hosted its Second Annual Subcontractor Appreciation BBQ. We had close to 200 subs come to our office in Anaheim to meet the SPG team, eat great BBQ, and donate to Project Hope Alliance. Project Hope Alliance is an Orange County non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping homeless children by eliminating barriers that can make it difficult for them to succeed in school. With school starting next week, we asked all of our guests to bring in backpacks and school supplies for Project Hope. Also, everyone who brought in a donation item was given a raffle ticket for a 55” Samsung TV donated by our event sponsor, Elite Construction Equipment. Our goal for the donation drive was to have 33 full backpacks to give to Project Hope Alliance. At the end of the day, we ended up with 85 full backpacks and boxes of extra pens, notebooks, crayons, binders, glue sticks, and calculators!
We also had seven vendors come out to the event to exhibit and each one hosted their own raffle, giving away great prizes like DeWalt drills, Hilti toolbags, gift cards, and even a Ganahl Lumber skateboard. Blake’s Place BBQ supplied the day’s fare which included pulled chicken, brisket, and an assortment of side dishes.
It was a fun afternoon and just a small way that we can show appreciation for all the work these subcontractors do with us throughout the year. We would like to thank everyone who came to the event, especially those who generously donated to Project Hope Alliance!
