This 25,000 SF project includes extensive site improvements such as new landscaping, hardscape, grading, and preservation of the existing oak trees. The compound is used by the Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS), the Caltech Board of Trustees, and occasionally as a venue for special events. Construction of the new 4,675 SF conference center consisted of high ceilings, acoustical treatments, glazed skylights and walls, blackout capabilities, audio visual infrastructure, and storage. The type VB wood and steel structure is naturally ventilated LEED® Platinum Certified, the highest possible LEED® award.
