Driver SPG and Discovery Cube Orange County recently celebrated the remodel and 44,000 SF expansion of the Discovery Cube’s facilities with a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.
The project features new exhibit space, administrative offices, upgraded lobby/entrance area, a new ticket booth, and a 10,000 SF Showcase Theater with retractable seating. The expansion will double the Discovery Cube’s guest capacity and allow for larger, state-of-the-art exhibits.
Joe Adams, President and CEO of Discovery Cube Orange County, gave opening remarks at the ceremony. He discussed the new exhibits and how the Cube has inspired millions of curious children and budding scientists. “Today is a monumental occasion,” Adams said. “Discovery Cube will have more science adventures and exhibits ranging from a state-of-the-art water lab to a mission to Mars simulation.”
The entire Driver SPG team was recognized at the event for all of their hard work and dedication in bringing this project to completion.
Additional speakers included Miguel Pulido (Mayor of Santa Ana), Todd Spitzer (Chairman, OC Board of Supervisors),Sheila and Jim Peterson (community leader and Chairman/CEO of Microsemi), and Janet and Walkie Ray (community leader and partner, Sanderson J. Ray and Discovery Cube Board Member).
Congratulations to the Driver SPG Project Team – Brett Montgomery, Matt Moser, Mike Sosa, and Daniel Maeng – for completing such a successful project!
