Driver SPG Completes Second ALS Renovation of the Year!

Driver SPG is continuing our partnership with the ALS Association of Orange County and has just completed our second home renovation of the year! This project consisted of remodeling the Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom for Troy and Dani Mendenhall.

Troy and Dani live in the City of Orange and Dani was diagnosed with ALS a little over a year ago. Although she is still able to walk right now, the disease has affected her voice and made it difficult for her to talk and communicate. As her legs get weaker, it would have been impossible for Dani to use any of the bathrooms in the home, so Driver SPG was called in to help out with the renovation!

This project involved widening the doorways to the bedroom and bathroom to allow access for a wheelchair, replacing the carpet in the bedroom with vinyl flooring, re-locating the toilet and sink to create space for a roll-in shower, tiling the entire bathroom, and installing all new electrical and plumbing fixtures. All together, the project required 365 hours of work and is valued at $26,600 with all labor and material being donated so there was no cost for the Mendenhalls.

Of course, Driver SPG wouldn’t have been able to complete this project without generous contributions from our subcontractors. We would like to say thank you to Professional Diversified Flooring, ESI Contracting, Pacific Plumbing Co., Trueline Corporation, G Brothers, Sheward & Sons, and Continental Painting for all of their hard work and donations.
